The Top 5 Things All the Money in the World Can't Buy You

There are a lot of great things in this world that money can buy you. You can get clothes, cars, houses, jewelry and great security systems that can protect the things you own. You can buy electonic equipment and take classes until you have unbelievable knowledge and the technology to do a lot with it. However, all of this will only take you so far.
On the other side of things, there are also things that money can't ever buy. While you can always find a gold digger or a professional to help with most things, there are many things in life at the core that all the wealth on earth can do very little about. The following are a few of the biggest things that no amount of money has found any known solution for. When you play the Rewardit Sweepstakes, keep in mind that you can win wonderful things, but not everything.

1. Love
You can hire a match maker and you can pay for great nights out, but you can't make anyone love you with any amount of money. In the same vein, you can't make yourself love someone you just aren't attracted to, no matter how much you try and delude yourself.

2. Happiness
Are you really happy, or are you just buying a bunch of junk hoping that it will make you happy? The overwhelming likelihood is that the former is what is really going on if every purchase makes you feel a little bit emptier.

3. Peace of Mind
If fear runs your life, no amount of money is going to run it out. Fear and insecurity are things you have to deal with inside, as they can't be smothered from the outside. Like water freezing and breaking up bricks, they will erode any monetarily built sense of confidence after enough time passes.

4. Friendship
Your real friendships are not based on money. You can take your friends out for something fun, and it isn't about the transaction. It's about having fun and having each other's backs. No amount of money can ever buy a friendship like the kind you can forge with listening, understanding and the mutual support that costs nothing at all.

5. Unending Life
So far, even the richest people in the world have eventually succumbed to death. While medical science may one day halt the aging process and create a fountain of youth, it hasn't yet. For now, all you can do is eat reasonably, exercise regularly, and stay positive.
There are some things money can't buy. Fortunately, these are things that do not have to cost you a cent. With a little bit of work and some actual care, you can build the things that matter the most in life. With a good contest, you can win almost everything else.

Why are personalised cards so popular?

In recent years personalised gifts and cards have emerged as something of a growth industry, to the point where companies exist entirely to provide a choice of personalised gifts and cards for people – such as Getting Personal. The increasing popularity of personalised cards may seem strange at first as, to a certain extent, cards in particular have always been customised, as people write their own personal messages within them before sending them, but personalised cards offer this potential for individually-tailored cards taken one step further, by giving the sense that a card has actually been designed with the recipient specifically in mind – rather than simply customised by the sender after purchasing it. It is likely that the growth in personalised gifts and cards is a mark of our growing individuality and the sense that traditional cards can be a little mass-produced and impersonal – even when we have written our own messages inside them.

Furthermore it is possible to get personalised gifts and cards for any conceivable occasion or event, from birthdays and Christmas, to wedding anniversaries and for the successful completion of exams, meaning that you can secure a card tailored specifically to the recipient, whatever the card is designed to acknowledge. This flexibility is also the case when it comes to the content of the cards, as you can buy personalised cards with messages that are amusing, risqué, romantic or ones which have music or sports related designs, meaning that it should be possible to find a personalised card to suit your intended recipient – whatever occasion you are sending it to mark, and whatever their particular personality and interests are.

The comprehensive nature of the personalised cards and gifts now offered by those companies specialising in this area, is probably another significant reason for the increasing popularity of them. It is so easy for people to find a unique card which suits the person they are sending it to and it shows a bit more extra effort has gone into the creation of the card.

The best kinds of gifts for baskets

One of the best times of the year for most of us is the Holidays. Christmas is, of course one of the most popular times of the year for gift giving, and it is also one of the most popular times of the year for us to be able to spend time with our families. Although there are a lot of different times of the year when it is popular to give gifts, this part of the holidays is something that can really be frustrating for a lot of different people. There are quite a of people who are not fans of shopping, and would rather spend their time doing other things.

When it comes to making the gift shopping process a little easier for consumers, retailers do a lot of different things to help. One of the main things that some of them do at particular times of the year is put together gift baskets for their customers, according to the different items that are in it, or the different interests that the person who you may be giving it to may have. The different stores that choose to do this normally do a good job of putting different like items together, in order to help out their customers when it comes to finding the perfect gift for the person that they are buying for.
There are many different kinds of gifts that are great for being used in gift baskets, no matter who they are for. One of the kinds of gifts that is especially good for these kinds of gifts are gift cards. If there is a particular website, or web store that the person likes, it is helpful to have these on hand, because then the person is able to choose the kind of gift that they want themselves, rather than you having to do all of the shopping yourself.

Anytime that you buy a gift for someone, there is always a chance that the gift that you choose for the person is not going to be something that they like, which can be a problem if you spent a lot of time going around to different places trying to find the right gifts for the people you need to buy them for. There are also other items that can be used in these kinds of gifts including things like small toys or books if the person that you are looking to buy these gifts for is a child.
Although shopping is something that could be stressful for some people, it does not have to be something that is stressful at all. The choices that people have today in gifts are numerous, and can be confusing, but as long as you use the information that you know about the person, it should make the whole shopping process much easier when it comes to looking for gifts for friends and family. No matter what kinds of gifts that you choose, it is really the thought that counts.

American Idol

Thanks for the article from Robin Woodard

American Idol is one of those shows that you don’t even have to watch to be able to know what is going on with it because they talk about it so much in the media these days. I rarely watch the show unless I am desperate for something to watch when the only other thing on is South Park. This morning I heard on the radio that they did a Whitney Houston tribute last week and some contestants were able to handle the songs and some were definitely weeded out of the competition.

They had a whole discussion on this radio show about whether they did the Whitney tribute as a strategic move to get the girls some serious votes that they were lacking earlier on in the season. After hearing about the show on the radio I decided to check out an episode to watch the contestants for myself. As it turns out there are some very talented people on the show and not just the ones that the producers probably hand picked to be on it. Check out directstartv.com to get American Idol on your TV soon.

Our Town

Contributed by Milford Woods

I love our small town because the sense of community. We all try to help each other out when we can, and I feel like we are just a big family. There aren’t many people here, so when someone new moves into town we all know about it. We got some new neighbors a few weeks ago, and they really needed help. They had never lived on such a big property before, and had no idea where to start. They bought an old home that hadn’t been occupied for years, so we all tried to chip in and help. We wanted them to feel welcome in their new town.

We all went out and helped them get the grounds under control. I think they appreciated that very much. They didn’t know how to get an internet connection way out here, so I suggested wildbluedeals.com. That’s what we use, so I figured that would help. They are becoming a nice addition to our community, and I’m happy that things are working out for them. They seem to be adjusting well.

My Experience With Unique Photo Coupons

Guest post by Alan Weber

Ever since I got my iPhone 4S, I'm completely obsessed with it. I've bought every type of accessory possible such as covers and blue tooth. My most recent obsession is finding iPhone wallpapers. I have so many different types right now, and I pretty much buy a new one every day. Depending on my mood, I change my wallpaper from puppies to bands.

In addition to having a wallpaper that I enjoy looking at, I also like the fact that I can get pictures for a discounted price. When I'm not searching for ways to enhance my phone, I'm busy fixing up my new apartment. I have most of the furniture, and now I'm just trying to make it look pretty and inviting. I went to a photo store nearby, and the prices were over the top. Luckily I found a website that I use often for frames and other photo needs, when I searched unique photo coupons. I was then able to get my frames and albums with an extra savings in addition to the low prices.

In addition to the low prices of my wallpapers and frames, there's even better great news. Because I'm part of a free shipping buying club, there are some times that I was even able to get my items shipped for free. Getting the items I want at great prices, what else can be better?

Making beautiful with what we have

Guest post written by Chelsea Linderman

Moving into our dream little house has made our budget for interior design shrink a little bit. The house is a fixer upper. We love that type of stuff, but that also means that we have to be better and more creative with our budget. Well, one thing that I've taken advantage of in decorating our place has been using old furniture that we already had or has been passed down to us.

While I was looking up some info on how to reupholster some of that furniture to give it a fresh, new look, I ran across some info on kitchen remodeling and decided to Click Here to get more info on it. That's one of the things that we were going to fix up in the house and that's something that I'd rather somebody else handle.

I'll just work on things like painting and reupholstering furniture as my part of the household makeover. My husband's pretty handy with things like putting up crown molding. Not so much installing cabinets and plumbing.

Making a Halloween mummy costume for my little monster

Guest post written by Abigail Burke

One of my favorite times of the year is Halloween. I've always loved scary movies and haunted houses, so it's like this season was made especially for me! I think that my kids are the same way because they see how enthusiastic I get about the season.

I asked them a few weeks ago what they wanted to be for Halloween. My daughter told me that she wanted to be a mummy, so I used our wireless internet Pittsburgh to look online for some good costume designs to use to make her costume. I did find several things and decided to base her version off of all the ones that I found.

I thought that it would be cute to make her a little mummy dress and leggings instead of pants and a shirt. So I'm working on sewing all of the torn strips onto her leggings and dress for it. She's pretty girly, so I thought that this would be a great way to reconcile that for this costume. Plus, it's so much cuter than the regular versions!

Picking out a stylish dog bed

Guest post written by Ariele Smith

One of the things that I've been meaning to change around my home for a while now is my dog's bed. We bought him a bed a few months back and he's just destroyed it! Now there's stuffing from it all over our home and we decided that it's about time to get him a new bed.

When I bought the first one, I didn't think so much about it. Now I'm going to get a much better one that won't be torn apart so easily. When I was looking online doing some shopping, I ran across the site http://www.clearwirelessinternet.com and after I looked through it a little bit I decided to change over our home internet service to one of those packages on there.

I picked out a stylish dog bed that was a little higher quality and also looked a whole lot better than the original one that I bought for our dog. I know it sounds silly to buy something really high quality for your dog that isnÕt food, but a high quality dog bed also means that thereÕs a whole lot less stuffing all over the house.

For his birthday

Guest post written by Jeramy Sparks

It was coming up on my husband’s birthday last month and I really wanted to get him something special since it was his fortieth. He’s such a great man and he’s really good at gift giving so I wanted to totally outdo him this time around. I decided to go to http://www.tvbydirect.com/ and get him DirecTV for all his football games since he’d recently joined a fantasy league and I knew he didn’t get all the games he wanted to watch. He was so excited you would have thought I bought him a new car or something!

I hope that when I’m 40 I look as good as Chris does and I really hope I’m being the kind of wife to him that he’s being to me, well, as a husband. I hope my little gift went a ways in showing him how very much he’s appreciated because I just can’t get enough of this amazing man I get to call all my own! Isn’t that the best of all worlds!

Mom Knew Best

Thanks for the guest post by Esteban Vinson

My mom knew I was old enough to have my own place so she talked to dad last year about buying me a house in the town where I went to school. It really just made sense since they were spending so much on my monthly rent anyway while I was in school and once I graduated they would be able to keep the house and rent it out. Instant rental income! Anyway, they got me the two-bedroom place I was hankering for and we made all the necessary upgrades. A lot of them were safety oriented thanks to my dad like going to www.Securitychoice.com and putting in deadbolts on all the doors but mom came through with things like paint colors and bedspreads. I feel more like an adult than ever and I love coming home to my very own house every day – I’ve always been more mature than some of my peers so it just makes sense that I would live in this great house by myself. I can handle it!

Road trip with the family for spring break

Guest post written by Michael Kent

I realized a few weeks ago that I've never really taken my family on a classic road trip and I thought that would be nice to do that before my kids get too old and have other responsibilities that might interfere with such plans. So that's what we're going to do in a few weeks when they go on spring break. I asked them what they wanted to do and of course they said they wanted to go to the Grand Canyon, so that's part of the plan.

I'm trying to plan out everything so that we can fit as much fun stuff in it as we want, stuff that we may not realize is nearby and should take ! advantage of. I was online researching some additional sites for us to go and see while I ran across the website texaselectricityproviders.com and read through it some. After that I decided to switch over our home energy plan to one I found on there.
I've actually never seen the Grand Canyon either, so I'm pretty excited about it. I just hope that it doesn't end up being like the Family Vacation movie with Chevy Chase.

Cruising to Hawaii

Contributed by Cameron Hodge

In the winter my favorite thing to do is go cruising. I have a decent job and work hard all year, and while I don't have a ton of money, the one splurge I make sure I get to do every year is to go on a Royal Caribbean cruise. The destination changes often, however my favorite cruise I've ever done is to Hawaii. I've done a few cruises that are five to six days but when I do the Hawaiian cruise I prefer to go for at least ten days. I've taken Hawaiian cruises that leave from both Vancouver and Honolulu, and while I love British Columbia, in my opinion it is so much better to leave right from Hawaii.

Before leaving packing is one of the most major things for me to do before getting on a flight. I like sun, so I pack plenty of bathing suits and cover-ups. A pretty sundress or sarong can go a long way in transitioning you from the pool to an indoor lunch or drink at that bar. I have a dog so he get's picked up by the dog sitter, I make sure to unplug all my appliances and set my home security alarm (Kansas alarm systems pricing) and I'm on my way!

Cruising to Hawaii is the most relaxing and fun thing I get to do all year and I don't think I'll ever stop doing it!

A Holiday Travel Lesson Learned

Guest post of the week by Deangelo Spencer

The holiday season is when I do all my traveling. My parents moved to Florida ten years ago and my sister moved out west after college for work. I still live in New England, near my brother. Last year it was my mother's turn to host the family for Thanksgiving. I made my usual list of things I had to do before I left for the week. You know, empty the fridge, have a friend collect the mail, set the security alarm (check it out), important things. Though I remembered all that I ended up forgetting the most important thing; I forgot to put my purse in my carry-on! I'm at the airport, my taxi has already left, I'm in a sea of people with my luggage, no identification, and no plane tickets! The plane was surely going to leave without me if I had to catch another cab, go all the way home, and come back. I was in a panic. I know I had tears in my eyes. Luckily, I had my cell phone on me. I called my neighbor, the one who I had given an emergency key to my house while I was away. She was home and able to bring me my purse. Just in time, too. I had to run to the gate, like in the movies. I'll never do that again!

My DVR and Me

Guest post, Vito Rivers

My DVR and I have a love hate relationship most of the time. That relationship is actually caused by the fact that we always seem to be on the wrong page with each other. I want it to set up to record one show and it decides that it wants to record a totally different show or none at all. However, I know that using my DVR to record my programs on direct tv is the only way that I can watch shows anymore.

You may be asking why this is the only way that I can watch shows and that answer is fairly easy to find. That is because these shows are often too violent for my children to watch, and unlike some other parents I will watch them at a later time when my kids are not around. However, they do have a tendency to like quite a few of the Discovery channel shows and I know that these shows are good for them to see and full of educational value. So, I decided that letting my children watch those shows would prove to be very beneficial for their education. Thankfully I was proven right when my daughter, who is a first grader, is already head and shoulders above her class because of the shows that she watches off of the DVR that we have.

The perfect holiday centerpiece

Guest post written by Whitney Mallard

A couple of days before I hosted our big family Thanksgiving luncheon, I threw together this cute little Thanksgiving themed table centerpiece. I got so many compliments on it and really did love it so much that I thought that I'd make one for Christmas that looked really similar to it.
I got the idea from a blog that I found with my CLEARINTERNET to make the centerpiece in the first place with some twigs and pine cones that I picked up in my backyard. Then I spray painted those metallic gold.

I thought that I could use those elements of Thanksgiving centerpiece and incorporate them into the one I made for Christmas. So I took those parts out of the Thanksgiving one and with the help of a discount store and some things that I already had laying around, I created this really pretty Christmas centerpiece! I took a holiday serving try and put all of the stuff on it, including some candles in hurricane glasses and tree trimmings that I took when I went out and bought our tree from the lot.

Family Guy

Guestpost written by Ramiro Mueller

Whenever I sit down on my potato chip flecked couch and rub my greasy belly, the dopamine sensors in my brain react accordingly as it is conditioned by the smells and sound permeating through the house that I am about to watch Free on Demand. The show that I usually watch is Family Guy, as it is the one show that gets me. As a high school dropout who constantly has trouble pronouncing the word "comfortable," I am mostly that whenever I see the likes of Peter Griffin, kindred spirit, as he rails on that pretentious know it all dog. The show is really about celebrating the power of the middle class intellectual, as Peter's wisdom rings true and succinct.

Sometimes when I am watching the show on Free on Demand I feel as if I am becoming the character. I can feel my laugh turn into a high pitched giggle, the trademark one demonstrated by Peter on the show. I do not know if this happening consciously or if I am just going insane. I wish my brain would talk to me and tell me what it's thinking but really I worry I am too stupid to understand it. At least I am not like the dog Brian who just pretends to understand it, which is ironic because in real life it's the other way around. I watch Free on Demand on my cable TV DVR.

My Favorite Infomercial

Author: Dorsey Velasquez

First off, I am not the kind of person who usually watches any infomercials.

But, one afternoon after I'd switched to a satellite dish from directtv I got to see one of the most fun and informative infomercials around, which has become my favorite infomercial ever!

There was this gadget being demonstrated by this guy with a really nice British accent.

I thought, "This looks like a cute little gizmo.".

I'm not sure if I can actually mention the product, but, let's just say it works like "Magic" and is shaped like a big "Bullet"!

The people they have in their infomercials are people I feel I can relate to; they're not "zombie-like" actors who only repeat the same phrases over and over, they have a positive personality that works well with the British Pitchman they've gotten to demonstrate the best little blender/chopper/mixer I've ever had the pleasure of using!

When I sat down to watch "The Magic Bullet Show" (my favorite infomercial), I was able to see the great things it can do! I literally got to see Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and afternoon snacks being made inside of a half an hour! I never would have imagined that!

I always enjoy watching my favorite infomercial because I can't wait to see the new products they have to go with it!

Shopping at Staples

Guest written by:
Donnie Donovan

Before I leave my house to go anywhere I always set my adt fire and security in Arizona. When I shop for my kids school supplies I always take them with me with the supply list in hand. Taking them with me allows them to be hands on with their supply selection. Their list usually contains the basic stuff like notebooks, folders, ink pens, pencils and a calculator. Depending on their classes they may require a calculator. School usually starts the last week of August for my kids, so I take them school supply shopping around the first Sunday of August. There is no need to shop at two or three different stores because when I shop at Staples they always have everything we need including the latest styles in backpacks. They always have great sales prices. There is always a buy one, get one free offer going on. I make sure to take my rewards card, not only do I get a great price but my rewards card offers 10% back on all my Staples purchases.

The Oscar Awards - Better Each Year

The Oscar Awards - Better Each Year
Content by Sol Rosales

The Oscar Awards have always one of the most highly anticipated awards shows of the year - perhaps even more so now that large screen plasma TV's and
direct tv hd services have made the picture so clear that it makes it seem like you are watching the awards from within the auditorium! 2010's Oscar Awards, the 82nd annual ceremony, took place on March 7th.
The Oscars rarely ever disappoint, and this year was no exception. The award winning actors and actresses included: Jeff Bridges for his performance in "Crazy Heart", Christoph Waltz for his performance in "Inglourious Basterds", Sandra Bullock for her performance in "The Blind Side" and Mo'Nique for her performance in "Precious".
While the list actors and actresses who took home awards is impressive, the award winning movies were even more so. Some of 2010's award winning movies included: "The Hurt Locker", "Precious", "Avatar", "The New Tenants", "Logorama", "Crazy Heart", "Up", "Star Trek", "El Secreto de Sus Ojos (The Secret in Their Eyes)", "Music by Prudence", "The Cove" and "The Young Victoria".
