Backyard Looks Great

I went to a Filipino Christmas party yesterday and I had a lot of fun especially my first born. As usual my husband dropped us off and came back a few hours later to pick us up again. I expected my husband to not stay. Instead he went home and worked in his front and backyard. When I came home from the party, it was dark and I didn't see any job he had done to it but he told me backyard looks great.

When I woke up this morning and looked outside and yes, he was right! Our backyard looks neat and clean now for he mowed it good and put all the pots on the concrete. Anyhow, it would even look good if we had a nice outdoor bamboo furniture and artificial rocks to compliment with the bamboo furniture.

When it is not very cold, we love to just hangout in the back porch with our outdoor fireplace. The husband loves it out there to sit down and have his quiet moment drinking beer right after work.

Big Savings!

I am happy we are through with our Princess' bedroom. For months this set of white furniture has been sitting in the garage waiting for my husband to work on. We bought it USED, it looked really ugly with all the writings, stains and damaged parts inside and chipped paint all over the drawers made by the previous owner... nobody would ever want to buy it , but since this furniture is made with the highest quality from a reputable furniture company the foundation and interior of the furniture showed no damage at all... my husband took the risk and paid $600 for the drawer, night stand, a mirror and a computer desk.

He ordered the missing parts from the company, fixed the damaged ones, sanded it and repainted the whole set and voila! He made it look like NEW. If we bought this entire set brand new we could've paid over 2 thousand dollars for they are expensive piece of furniture. For the desk alone, it would cost you $600 plus the mirror,drawer/chest and the nightstand?

But my husband is not the kind who will just jump into buying new things and won't even dare to exert some effort in order to save himself some money. Imagine the big savings we got for getting a used furniture and transforming it into like NEW! The price of a desk pays the entire thing and we are glad. Look how pretty they are now...all those flaws are gone!

Save Some Space

When you have kids, the space in your house became smaller. Every empty space you left for other things is valuable. It truly is. For we know kids need to have their own furniture too plus the toys. So it is important to save up some space in your flat, apartment, dormitory or in a single family house so people living in it can still be able to move around. In the kids' bedroom, we all know there isn't much space in there so parents should come up with an idea how to make their kids sleep comfortably without making it too congested for them. Dining Room Chairs

We do believe we have too much furniture in this house since all of my late father inlaw's furniture are with us but to our surprise, a decent set of Dining Room Chairs are lacking. How could that be? I don't know what happened to his dining table and chairs in California for I don't see anything in the storage until we took them all out there. Although we have our own dining room chairs but we need a second set for it to put in our dining area eventually when we cleared up this room full of boxes and stuff.

Need A New Set

I was told by a friend weeks ago that she wanted to change their sofa set for they are too old already, ten years older maybe. And I told her, why not change them anyway? It's your house, you have money to buy for new things so what is stopping you from doing that? Later she told then told me that if she was to be frugal, she'd like to follow what her step daughter is doing. Keeping the old stuff as long as they are not torn and are still functional. Why change it if you have something that is fully functional?

Well, I see her point to that but I believe and I hope she will change her mind once she sees these microfiber sofa, sofa sets, sectional sofas I've seen online. Most of all she will likely to change her mind if she can get a great deal on any of them. I may have to show her the page where I have seen these beautiful sofas and see what I can do.

decorating our new home

I never knew that moving from one house to another can be so stressful. Yes, I was told before by people who have moved once or a couple times how hard and tiring it is to move over stuff from one place to another but I did not believe them. For me, I can only find if it is true until I experience it myself.

October 28 came, the big move had to be done and yes, they were right when they said that. Arggsss it took us couple of days to bring all our stuff to the new house which we are living now. We already have some essential home furnishings and I believe this is enough for now. I am not sure though once our job here is over and things can be arranged in their proper place if we have furniture for each specific part of the house like the dining room furniture.

Well, I am so anxious buying the rest of the needed furniture online in which I can find great deals.
