New Acquaintances

Thanks to a neighbor friend for inviting me to one of her friend's small gathering. My little Pearl was able to have her egg hunting for the second time because of the invitation. Not only that, I also was able to meet new Filipina acquaintances that day. It is always nice to meet new people and get to know each other. 

I also got to see one of the Filipinas that I met before unexpectedly shown in the picture below. She was introduced to me by Mharly- a blogger in Grapevine Mills a couple months back. That was awesome for I didn't really think I could see her in Mansfield for the second time last weekend.

Filipino-American Christmas Parties

I thought my Christmas was gonna be boring for we usually have Christmas in the USA with our family alone. Although there were some invitations from the past but the location itself is quite far from the house so I wasn't willing to have my husband drive us back and forth only to be at the party. Two Christmas parties I attended just this month and each party was a blast. The first party was in Watauga and we had an exchange gift. I am happy with what I got because it is exactly what I've been thinking to buy for our kitchen.

Great Friends

I had a sort of a surprised baby shower last Sunday! My friend just told me that it's just a simple gathering and nothing else. All the Filipina friends we have in our Fb list in DFW area were invited, none of them ever told me that they were attending a baby shower so all along I really thought it was just a gathering.

When I got to her place, I was like why there are pink balloons and diaper cake here? Are you giving me a baby shower, hmmmm? That's how I knew it! Then when people started arriving, they were carrying gift bags with them for the baby. To my surprise also, friends I already told I'm not gonna be having a baby shower were there, they showed up that brought tears to my eyes. They were really nice and GREAT! Thanks to wonderful friends surrounding me and most of all I am most thankful to the sisters Annie and Irish for hosting the party! They all made me feel special and loved!

Hold Your Party At The Park

When we say "party", it involves people, food, children and adult, gifts/presents and FUN. It is an occasion where people gather together to make up with each other or simply just enjoy the music and the food. One can have a party on different venues. You can even hold it at the park and you don't have to make it so formal for everybody.

By doing it in the park, you don't have to worry about having to pay for the lease, besides parks here are beautiful and clean. Plus they are complete with Site Furnishings such as Adirondack chairs, Picnic Tables and Park Benches. So long as the weather permits, a park party is cool. This way everyday doesn't have to worry about the clothes to wear anything that is comfortable and suits with the weather is fine.

Karaoke At Our House

Me and few of my selected friends had a blast yesterday celebrating Memorial Day in our house. I cooked Filipino foods for them and I am glad they liked it especially the pregnant Irish. I made them hornish chicken stew with horseradish leaves, grilled pork belly and mackerel fish, fried dried fish and of course, rice. It wasn't a big feast for us but it was enough to fill our stomach with our most favorite dishes.

After pigging out in the kitchen we then proceeded to the living room where we had our karaoke for 4 hours. Even Annie's better half nakikisalo na rin. It's nice to have friends come over sometimes for it helps me relieve boredom and loneliness. Thank to them for they really made my Monday. Looking forward for more small and simple gatherings in the future.

Christmas Day with my Friends

How was your Christmas day friends? Did you enjoy it? How did you spend the special day? If you ask me,I truly had fun here and spent it with my local friends here in Fort Worth. Annie,Rose and I all agreed to gather at Annie's house to have a small feast that came into reality.

We had kinilaw na tuna,ginamos with cucumber,pork adobo,puto maya,sweets,saging and of course fruit salad. We all contributed to the foods we had that made us very full almost burst out after eating so big!!! Since,there were only 3 of us and we still had lotta foods left,we needed to bring some to our house! Yes, I had fun yesterday. We were like humans for we also had gift giving ceremony after the feast hehehehe.Imagine yourself staying in the kitchen for the whole 5 hours and do nothing but eat?..well,that is all I can share for today.CHRISTMAS WELL SPENT AND I WAS SO HAPPY!
