We Had Visitors

Yesterday was a great day for us here. Two of my trusted friends came over for a short visit. They are the authors of My Rendezvous and Pinay's Life In America. It was nice to see them both especially Cla2x. She lives at least 6 hours away from us here and glad she had the time to visit yesterday.

We had endless chitchats about anything else which is expected when Filipinas gather together. Our kids had a lot of fun playing. I love the idea my girl got to play with other kids younger her age especially with boys. They got along just fine, I believe! Here are our photos we took!

Filipino-American Christmas Parties

I thought my Christmas was gonna be boring for we usually have Christmas in the USA with our family alone. Although there were some invitations from the past but the location itself is quite far from the house so I wasn't willing to have my husband drive us back and forth only to be at the party. Two Christmas parties I attended just this month and each party was a blast. The first party was in Watauga and we had an exchange gift. I am happy with what I got because it is exactly what I've been thinking to buy for our kitchen.

......shots of my little girl bringing the gift to me and opened it...this was last December 18 in Watauga the first party we went to...

........chadaaaaaaaaaaaa and here's what's in the box, a decorative candle holder, there's 2 of them actually which I so love!
........and the last photo is of me and my baby and Selina also a blogger..
Here are some photos of us on Christmas eve, a different group of Filipinas just three blocks away from our home...

Few of which are these yellow Pantera, Ferrari and Lamborghini kick ass cars. Photos I personally took at the Italian Car Fest last Saturday in Nash Farm Grapevine, Texas.

Because She Got Quiet

One afternoon, I went looking for my big girl for the world suddenly got quiet and I was thinking where she might be. I called her name several times but no one answered me. I checked in her bedroom but the girl wasn't there. I went to the kitchen and this is what I found (look at the photos). She was on the floor sitting down, sucking her milk that she took out of the refrigerator. It was her first time to do such thing and it shocked me so much seeing her like that. She looked really cute that I burst out to laugh upon seeing her with a gallon of milk beside her, poured some into her sippy cup and most of all, she had a nice milk foot spa at the comfort of her own kitchen.

Honestly, at first I was gonna get mad at her for making a mess, spilling the milk on the floor and played with it but then I realized the scene was JUST TOO CUTE to be mad or upset about. So I grabbed my camera and did not miss to capture the sweetest girl that had fun sipping milk at the same time having her foot spa. Ahhhhhhhh what can I say? AWESOME GIRL SHE IS!

Nice Patterns

Jadyn at 3 has learned to make or draw different patterns on a paper. She has improved her drawing throughout the year. From drawing just simple lines to making a rounded or potato-shaped pattern to adding eyes and feet to it. Then she got tired of that, she improved her drawing to making zigzag lines which then formed into a series of mountains. The latest she draw is the vertical lines using different colors which make it beautiful after filling a whole page of small spiral notebook. I wish I took close up snaps of her artwork for keeps forever.

........ caught her doing her favorite past time with the use of crayons..she does it anytime and anywhere she feels like doing it... and hmm look at the backpack along with her trucks...

A Great Help

I am one lucky mommy for having such a great girl who happens to like Mike so much. Mike is our close friend in Texas who came with us here in the Philippines for a month-long vacation. He likes Jadyn and Jadyn loves him too. Thanks to him for he is a great help to me for Jadyn. He makes sure Jadyn is well-taken care of when he is with us.
...... if there is one person that I can rely on during long trips or long walks, Mike would be that person for he carries Jadyn's heavy weight on his shoulders ha!

...these three photos above and below were taken in Kawasan Falls yesterday... you see how these two people are so comfortable with each other, I guess Jadyn looks at Mike as her second daddy.

I Will Never Forget

.....the day I became a US Citizen. September 14,2010 was the very day I never thought America would open its door for me to be equal in all rights, duties and responsibilities in this country.. There were 55 countries and 92 candidates to be naturalized that day including me. It was such an awesome experience for me!

The countries got the most number of candidates were Mexico and India. As for the Philippines, there were only two of us. Can you imagine the number of people who become citizens everyday in all 50 states?
.....photo above is the officer explaining what how we should properly sign our name in the certificate and the do's and don'ts of handling it...the one below is of us falling in line about to submit or surrender our Green Card or what we call Permanent Resident Card to the USCIS officers...

Fort Worth Water Garden

I can go back to the water garden in downtown over and over again without getting tired of it it's because it's so refreshing there. It's the kind of place you wanna go to when you want to think of serious things for it takes away sadness and stress. The sound of the water is therapeutic and most of all the clean and green surroundings of the area make you want to stay there for one whole day.

I love it there, can't you tell? I love its tranquility and most of all, the beautiful landscape are enough reasons why you should come visit Fort Worth Water Garden. Ah not to mention, it is free of charge. It won't cost you a dime when you visit there.

Fruits For Breakfast

I don't have much trust about feeding my girl just fruits for breakfast but according to other people it is good so be it. I am used to feeding her rice but she has difficulty defecating so fruits in the morning will be a big change in her diet.

With fruits Jadyn has no problem eating it. Unlike rice and other stuff I give her, she would only eat 3 teaspoonful of it and she's done. Why is this baby so picky? She has all the foods in the world she can eat but the problem is she doesn't much have appetite eating them.
..... every other morning I give her fruits..on her plate shown in the photos are watermelons which is her favorite, slices of bananas, grapes and strawberries...

More Of Her Collection

More of my girl's collection. You see she also collects trucks and dinosaurs. You think they are only for boys but girls love playing them too. As for the trucks, it was her dada started it all. We went to Tractor and Supply Corporation in San Antonio and he bought Jadyn two of those and then the next visit, we happened to stop by at the same store, he bought another two.

As for the dinos, she learned to love dinos when Dinosaur Train was shown on Qubo. It's one of her favorite shows now every morning. Lucky girl to have all the things she ever wished for. Thanks to her Dada for being so supportive and spoiling his little girl.

Resting Place

I feel honored to have visited my father inlaw's hometown. We went there for his funeral. Now that he's in his resting place together with his family, we sort of feel the closure of his death. He passed away last June 21 and we just recently buried him at his hometown in Benicia, California. I took some photos of where he is laid to rest for I know I'm not gonna see the place again.

......out of 13 people buried there, I only know four of them including my FIL's spot, the rest of it is yet to be known if my husband can tell me who they are...
.........yep it's where the Sanborns are laid to rest...exclusively for their family only...

Colorful Flowers

It's apparent in these photos here that I love love love flowers. It makes me smile when I see beautiful and colorful flowers. I took these ones here when we visited Benicia (here I am again talking about Benicia hmmmmm). I thought they were unique and they are of different sizes. These are the kind that I don't see here in Texas and keeping a photo of them is a good idea.

...the first two photos is of my baby with the flowers during our walk in the downtown.
...the one below is of me with all these large purple flowers planted around the hotel's premises...they are everywhere in California I noticed that...

.....two big bushes of bougainvilleas and the flowers are sooooo tiny that make it look they aren't bougainvilleas...we have these flowers here in Texas but I don't think I've seen this kind of breed here...

Meeting The Relatives

We will be flying back home to Texas today yeheyyy but I don't feel like I am reading going home yet. I still enjoy being here in California because of the nice views and the weather. Back home it will be scorching hot and I am not looking forward to it yet.

Funeral is over and I guess people coming from afar are starting to get on the road so they can be home at sundown. If not because of my FIL's funeral, I would have met my husbands relatives in California. Although funeral isn't a wonderful time to meet them but I am glad they are here and I met them. They are nice people especially Lisa, the blond woman who is very nice to me and Jadyn, Vivian, my husband's cousin that made me feel I belong to their clan. She was the one who talked to me about the people in the family from the past generation.

... above photo is of me, my baby, Lisa and a relative I forgot her name...
....... of course it's me and my husband.. he received a flag for his father was once a US Air Force Veteran...
... this one right here is at the Arneson's house after the funeral...we had lunch there and got to mingle with the rest of the family...it was awesome.
