Larger Than Life--The Half Ton Mum

My husband was reading his morning news in the other computer,when I went near him to say good morning, this is what caught my attention from his screen. I thought of sharing it here because I thought this is an interesting sad news to read. Why would somebody wait to get this big before they do something to fix their weight? Just unbelievably huge,larger than life they say.

Renee Williams,from Austin,Texas,the bedridden 29-year-old,became the largest person ever to have gastric bypass surgery earlier this year after ballooning to nearly seventy stone – but died 12 days later. Her astonishing size meant that the operating table had to be specially widened for the procedure.

The operation was successful and Renee lost four stone due to her reduced stomach capacity before dying of a sudden heart attack less than two weeks later. Her story is told in a Channel 4 programme next week.

Renee had battled with her weight since childhood and was classified as super-morbidly obese at the age of 12.

She was married by the age of 15 and had her first child, Mirina, at 16 weighing 30 stone.

Renee had grown to a massive 35 stone by the time she had her second daughter Mariah.

In 2003, she was hit by a drunken driver in an accident that left her unable to walk because her leg was crushed.

She became bedridden and began eating even more.

"She wouldn't stop eating until her stomach started to hurt," says 13-year-old Mirina.

Tragic: Renee died days after the surgery

"She would get about eight burgers and eat them all. I kept telling her she was eating her emotions. I think she was sick and tired of being in that bed."

Renee piled on more and more weight and by 2007 she was nearing 70 stone - six times the size of a healthy woman in her age group.

Magazines Anyone?

I was cleaning the t.v room today and remove the clutter as I can. I packed all the picture frames we have in there so someday, sooner or later when we move out from this house I have few small things left to do. One of the clutters I mean is a whole year subscription of Glamour magazine in 2007. Since I am done reading them all,I throw them away but still left some that are new. I do have several kinds, Allure,Fitness,Baby,Glamour and Self,all new unpacked from the plastic.

I have not been reading them because kind of busy here with internet and other things so I just let them sleep for a while. I suspect I still receive copies/new issues of those mentioned magazines in the next few months that will only add to the pile.

I doubt if I have time reading them all because you know, expecting a baby here...and they say having a baby around keeps the momma busy all day.

Busy Day

First time in history of being here so busy doing errands.As soon as I got up at noon, I started my household chores that even until now I am not done doing it all. Wonder what I have been doing around here?

Since,I really have a big belly now,moving is kind of difficult for me and that I am taking my time finishing my work. I did sweep the floor,vacuum the t.v room a little bit, washed the couch cover,dusting,take a break for a while,eat then continue with my work again. Washing the dishes and finally at dark take a shower.

While resting again,I am waiting for the last batch of my laundry to be done so I can fold the clothes all at once. Tomorrow will be another busy day for me keeping the ornaments in the box and taking the tree down. Because if I'm not gonna do it,who else going to do my work in my behalf? No one. I am doin' all these while I am still able to move..you know expecting a child very soon...

Nothing is more exciting to me than waiting for the right time of my little angel's arrival to our our home. Counting the days now and I can't avoid not to be anxious. Who doesn't? First born ata ito!!! It's gonna be a big adjustment for both of us having a little girl around here that is for sure. Not to mention,my husband's change of work schedule too,so it's going to be pretty tough for us.

Exhausted from Shopping?

What am I complaining about? So exhausted from shopping! Oh no,I shouldn't be because shopping is a lot of fun especially sales are everywhere. I walked and wandered around the mall for 3 hours,non stop walking,looking for items on sale that really wore me out.Going in and out at a different stores.

Long time no shopping you know? Since,it's a perfect time to shop because Christmas is over and surely stores are wanting to sell their merchandise so be it! I have been bugging my husband going to the mall supposedly to Dallas but it's a long drive to go there so we decided to just go to the nearest mall here,5 minutes drive at Ridgmar! Wewww..I spent my whole day treating myself with clothes...lots of fun but so tiring..buntis nag inusara galaag!!

Christmas Day with my Friends

How was your Christmas day friends? Did you enjoy it? How did you spend the special day? If you ask me,I truly had fun here and spent it with my local friends here in Fort Worth. Annie,Rose and I all agreed to gather at Annie's house to have a small feast that came into reality.

We had kinilaw na tuna,ginamos with cucumber,pork adobo,puto maya,sweets,saging and of course fruit salad. We all contributed to the foods we had that made us very full almost burst out after eating so big!!! Since,there were only 3 of us and we still had lotta foods left,we needed to bring some to our house! Yes, I had fun yesterday. We were like humans for we also had gift giving ceremony after the feast hehehehe.Imagine yourself staying in the kitchen for the whole 5 hours and do nothing but eat?..well,that is all I can share for today.CHRISTMAS WELL SPENT AND I WAS SO HAPPY!

Natural Remedy

I have not been getting enough shut-eye since I entered the world of blogging. I sign out every night very late and wake up early dawn just to chase opps after opps. What do I get? Little bit amount of money of course and big dark circles around my eyes as well.
