Making Sugar Cookies

I had a great time making sugar cookies for the first time in my life. I thought it was going to be another failed try doing something pertaining to baking. My girl was with me the entire time I did my cookies. She helped me cut the dough into different shapes and bake it. After the cookies are done, we both enjoyed decorating it. Not only I taught her about shapes and colors but also I got to spend time with her in the kitchen, it was indeed a mother and daughter bonding moment together while the husband was looking after the baby.

Here are some photographs of us while in the kitchen. I can tell how much my Jadyn enjoyed the activity!
......... great working hands cutting the cookie dough

.......chadaaaaaaaa they're done...now ready for some decoration

Vegetable Stew

I crave for pure native vegetable stew. My stomach is needing it right now since it's very cold and starving to death. I so missed those days at my grandma's place where we can just pick veggies straight and fresh from her garden. Hot soup like this is so good to slurp when it's served hot and smoking. Sigh!

Blood Stew or Dinuguan

I forgot I bought a tray of pork blood at the Asian market last month. I thawed it already thinking that I could make a dish out of it today. I don't have other ingredients for blood stew or what we call Dinuguan, might as well make use of my pork blood. I am still gonna go ahead and make the said dish to contain my craving for it.

Fish Recipes

Nothing is more rewarding than having these mouth-watering Filipino dishes. I love fish a lot. I grew up surrounded by bodies of water and in our place, fish of any kinds were abundant. I wouldn't replace it for a steak.

So speaking of fish, here's what we had this morning. I actually cooked these yesterday and decided to leave some for today. The fried fish is the mackerel which my girl loves so much and the second photo is of my tinolang bangus or boiled milkfish with all the spices and lemon grass to make it more delectable to the mouth.
........these are the kind of foods that could totally ruin my diet, but even so...I still eat them paired with rice...I just have to learn to discipline myself of not eating too much of this when it's late so I could reach my goal of getting rid my unwanted belly fats.

I Cook My Own Chinese Food

I do sometimes crave for Chinese food but my husband is so tight that he would say no if I ask him to dine out at a Chinese buffet. If we are away from home or if there is an occasion that is the only time he would take his family out. If it is just ordinary days and we got plenty of stuff in the refrigerator, there is no way he would say yes to that.

On the other hand, I don't sulk at all for I know we save us some money if we just cook our own food instead of having someone cooking it for us. If want to eat a fried rice and chow mein, I would just cook it myself.

I have done it a few times and it just taste as good as the one we can eat at the Chinese restaurant. The great advantage of home cooking is we don't have to pay so much for the food plus I can cook as much as I like to last for the next meal.

My Embutido

Weeeeew I am so much happier now that I satisfied my craving for embutido because it was a success although it took too long to make it. Not only I like but my husband does too. In fact, he is bringing a whole roll of it every morning to work for breakfast and just minutes ago, he told me what I call the thing that he's been eating for it's such a good stuff and I guess he likes the taste of it too!

Wow this became his favorite... I didn't know that he's gonna like the dish but I just went ahead and make it anyway. I made it for myself and not for the husband to eat. Out of two pounds of ground pork, I made at least 9 medium size rolls of embutido! Yum!
