Dada Turned 56 Two Days Ago

My husband just celebrated his 56th birthday three days ago. I made it sure I didn't forget his birthday this year because last year, I totally forgot about it and didn't remember his birthday until two months have passed. As usual, we made the celebration so simple, I just bought a rounded cake and two number candles at the grocery so he can blow it and also I prepared a pen pasta for dinner and that was all it. Oh wait a minute, he didn't blow his cake, it was Jadyn who blew it as if it was her birthday, lol.

My Girls Wore The Same Princess Dress On Their 1st Birthday

I am really glad that God gave me two Princesses instead of one boy and one girl or the second girl could have not used my first born's outgrown clothes. It truly saves us quite a bit of money for keeping the same old baby stuff until baby Megan came.

One of the many things I didn't buy is this pink Disney Princess dress that I bought four years ago for Jadyn's first birthday. I actually left it in the Philippines in 2009 but then brought it back here in the U.S the following year we were able to visit my homeland. Photos below are snaps of the two Princess on their first birthday wearing the same pink dress. Cool, isn't it? Too bad though I didn't capture Jadyn's full body just like I did of Megan.

"The Best Birthday Ever!" She Said

I was tickled to my veins when I heard my first born saying, "this is the best birthday party I ever had". She said that while she was alone sitting in the kitchen facing the cake and all the stuff. She said it with emotion! I then told her, no that is not true! Don't you remember those 4 great birthdays you had with lots of visitors, barbie dolls and food? She then replied, "oh yeah!". 

Silly girl. She is already experiencing forgetfulness at age 4, haha. I tried reminding her of the past birthday celebrations she had so she wouldn't think that it's only her baby sister getting the best birthday ever! Huh, in a kid's eyes our celebration today was the best but for me it was just so simple and exclusive for my family,   well except for their next door playmate who came to sing the song with us.

I only cooked my baby spaghetti for long life and that's it. A cake, a box of mini magnum ice cream, one Barbie doll as my present to her and a monkey stuff toy from Isabella and that is it. Nothing fancy, really.

Tasks Waiting On My Birthday

I couldn't be more thankful to God today for giving me another  year of my life. Today I celebrate my 29th birthday and started my day with a little prayer thanking Him for I am still alive, in great physical and mental health. I would want nothing on my birthday but just go on with my day, finish my online tasks and hopefully receive more to do today.

I have already told my husband what I want to do this weekend. I just want to satisfy my craving for seafood so off the the Chinese buffet we go hopefully tomorrow. I am just a person that is easy to please, no drama, no nonsense and most of all happy atlhough problems get into me sometimes. So for myself, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ANNE! Lol.

Also this is our first Father's Day without our father, Elson. He has gone to rest with the Lord 8 months ago and I missed him so very very much!

A Very Emotional Photo

While we are enjoying our comfortable chair at home, a lot of soldiers are out there in the battlefield away from their family fighting for their country. Take a moment and say a little prayer to our soldiers who risk or have risked their own lives so we may enjoy the freedom we are taking advantage right now. 

If you sister, sister-in-law, a friend or any woman who works for the military and are mothers, do remember them this Mother's Day by sending them warm greetings or you could send out a package for light Tactical Headsets. Although they are supplied with tactical loud speakers and or component products and other stuff from the government, of course it is different receiving something from someone dear to them.

I am on Facebook right now and there is this very touching photo of a male soldier hugging his baby that shows extreme emotion. Seeing this makes me more appreciative of those people who went to fight for their country leaving families behind. To all you soldiers out there, male and female, I salute you all and please know I have so much respect for you guys! For me you all are real heroes!

New Acquaintances

Thanks to a neighbor friend for inviting me to one of her friend's small gathering. My little Pearl was able to have her egg hunting for the second time because of the invitation. Not only that, I also was able to meet new Filipina acquaintances that day. It is always nice to meet new people and get to know each other. 

I also got to see one of the Filipinas that I met before unexpectedly shown in the picture below. She was introduced to me by Mharly- a blogger in Grapevine Mills a couple months back. That was awesome for I didn't really think I could see her in Mansfield for the second time last weekend.

Mellow Yellow Monday :Round Fruits For New Year

It's a tradition in the Philippines to gather or collect 13 different kinds of round fruits for New Year. This is in the hope of more money coming through out the new year! Cheers to all of us people!

This is what I have on our table, it is actually my first time to do this here in the U.S. My fruits consist of a cantaloupe, grapes, avocado, apple, apple pear, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, kiwi, mango, tangerine, granada (i forgot the name in english) and pear! Not forgetting my two bottles of sparking red and white grape juice!

Filipino-American Christmas Parties

I thought my Christmas was gonna be boring for we usually have Christmas in the USA with our family alone. Although there were some invitations from the past but the location itself is quite far from the house so I wasn't willing to have my husband drive us back and forth only to be at the party. Two Christmas parties I attended just this month and each party was a blast. The first party was in Watauga and we had an exchange gift. I am happy with what I got because it is exactly what I've been thinking to buy for our kitchen.

She Is In The U.S

A friend of mine, a high school classmate and a neighbor has finally made it to the U.S.A. After such a painstaking months of waiting for her visa to join her fiance' she made it through and honestly, I am very happy for her. I wish her the best of luck in everything especially in adjusting her new culture, new life and most of all her marriage ahead.

I am waiting for her to open up about her wedding and see if she will ask me of my help of where she can buy affordable but presentable wedding invitations to give out to her fiance's family and friends. If she will have an entourage, that is so cool too for I can help her find cheap bridesmaid dresses on the internet. This way they can just order online. I hope that everything goes well with them in preparation for their wedding. She is in the other state so I cannot help her physically.

Great Friends

I had a sort of a surprised baby shower last Sunday! My friend just told me that it's just a simple gathering and nothing else. All the Filipina friends we have in our Fb list in DFW area were invited, none of them ever told me that they were attending a baby shower so all along I really thought it was just a gathering.

When I got to her place, I was like why there are pink balloons and diaper cake here? Are you giving me a baby shower, hmmmm? That's how I knew it! Then when people started arriving, they were carrying gift bags with them for the baby. To my surprise also, friends I already told I'm not gonna be having a baby shower were there, they showed up that brought tears to my eyes. They were really nice and GREAT! Thanks to wonderful friends surrounding me and most of all I am most thankful to the sisters Annie and Irish for hosting the party! They all made me feel special and loved!

Filipino Gathering

I had the ultimate fun at a neighbor's house last weekend. It was like I was in my home country because of the unlimited chitchat and never ending laughter while at their house. Too many Filipinas were there plus very funny husbands that brought us so much joy at that time.

It was a sort of post birthday celebration for all Filipinas who celebrated their birthdays in the month of June including myself. We did karaoke or in the Philippines we call it videoke for full 4 hours, foods and drinks! You know when Filipinos gather together, you expect there'll be plenty of food served on the table. Our gathering wouldn't be complete without food, you know!

Nice to know and meet new people at the same time. There is this girl I just met for the first time who has a daughter of five years old that really got along with my Jadyn. Good for them for they were the only little kids in that house last weekend and they two had a good time playing and running around.

Greetings to all dads out there and to the two fathers I know in my life, my husband who has been so supportive and wonderful to my girl and to my father who had given his all to provide for his family!!!! Cheers!! I LOVE THEM BOTH!

A Customized Card For Him

My baby and I make it a tradition every year to give the father of this house a customized Father's day card. So far he has 2 different cards given to him from Jadyn from the past two years. We just want him to feel and remember that he's a father to an awesome little girl in our own special way. Yes, giving a card to him is such a simple yet thoughtful way to show how much we appreciate all the hard work and care he has given to his family.

Eventually, when Jadyn is able to write him a message, I would let her write something for her father in the cards I personally make on Kodak gallery. Here's the third one I created for this year and just waiting for it to arrive in the mailbox in the next few days. I will have my child write a simple greeting for her father (guide her hand to write) so it will be ready on Father's day. It would be awesome if the card has Jadyn's touch on it that would make the card special.

Valentine's Day Greeting

She Turned 3

Mommy and daddy's little Princess turned three today. We didn't give her a grand birthday party but that was enough for her to enjoy it with a smile. I invited few people to be here, prepared only a few kind of foods but it was how we celebrate that made my Jadyn's birthday a memorable one. I ordered her "A Night With Princess" theme Goldilocks cake that put a big smile in her heart. She loved the cake, it was truly pretty and she deserves it. My aunt also gave her a cake which is also pretty and delicious. After the dinner, adult people had a karaoke for more than five hours. All in all my girl's birthday was indeed one of the most unforgettable event ever happened in her life so far.

Big Group

Here are a post birthday party snaps last weekend. I just now have a time loading them 'coz I've been lazy the past days. So you might wonder where these Filipinas came from while you rarely see them around? I don't know the answer. All I know is that we are happy to gather together in occasions like birthdays.

These are just few Filipinas I met (most of them I just met and others I've known them for quite sometime now) in the DFW area. There is also another group in North Texas that I used to join and again there are many Filipinas belong to Janine's group.
