Kids Are Enjoying The Summer

While a lot of people especially those who work outdoor already feeling the blazing heat of Summer, these two kids pictured below seem to enjoy the heat of the sun. Kids are kids and even there are just the two of them they feel like they own the whole world. I love watching them outside to be honest. I am somewhat glad my four-year old child has found a friend next door because they can just play anytime they want either in our house or at Isabella's grandma's house next door. Temperature outside while they enjoyed so much of the water was 104 degrees F. Water splashes and watermelons are definitely two ways to beat the heat.

Hanging Out With Amber

In rare occasions, my daughter can get to hangout with her friends her age and I like it. She doesn't have many friends around here and being able to play with kids she knows is great but at the same time, it's kind of upsetting when we are out there because she doesn't listen to me. All she wants to do is play and play not wanting to eat even if she is starving. So the result would be playing the whole time we are at the party and when we get home that is when she asks for food complaining being hungry while I am ready to rest.

Out In The Middle Of Nowhere

Another gathering we attended last Saturday was in Weatherford. It was our first time to go to that place and we got lost, heck! Even so, it was such an adventure for all of us who attended the party because we were all lost. Such a hard way going to Ate Gloria's ranch. Very far from the civilization they live but in fairness, she has a hugeeeeeeee property out there, a humble home and really an ideal place to live peacefully. Few snaps of us at the party!

Eyeball With The Originals

We had such a fun time eyeballing with the "originals". I call them originals because they are my first friends I made when I arrived in the USA some years ago. It was very nice seeing a friend whom I haven't seen physically for two years and this time a baby with her. We used to joke with her as to when is she gonna make a baby so she can see her offspring and she would just smile at us for she was uncertain as to when that time is gonna come. Who would have thought a couple years later, she and her husband were blessed with such a pretty baby girl?

Here are snaps of us at the mall last Friday. However, there was one friend missing though, she had other business and couldn't make it to the mall at that day.

New Acquaintances

Thanks to a neighbor friend for inviting me to one of her friend's small gathering. My little Pearl was able to have her egg hunting for the second time because of the invitation. Not only that, I also was able to meet new Filipina acquaintances that day. It is always nice to meet new people and get to know each other.

I also got to see one of the Filipinas that I met before unexpectedly shown in the picture below. She was introduced to me by Mharly- a blogger in Grapevine Mills a couple months back. That was awesome for I didn't really think I could see her in Mansfield for the second time last weekend.

Mommies' Gathering

We had this wonderful gathering with selected friends at the park last Saturday. We needed this for our kids to play and socialize with their already known friends. Mommies need to take a break from staying at home too, we too need to breathe some fresh air and mingle with other mommies. It was nice seeing them. It has been such quite a while since I've seen them the last time. We finally got to see each other again last weekend. Thanks to the husband for driving us to the Egg hunting activity and to the park where my friends were.

We Had Visitors

Yesterday was a great day for us here. Two of my trusted friends came over for a short visit. They are the authors of My Rendezvous and Pinay's Life In America. It was nice to see them both especially Cla2x. She lives at least 6 hours away from us here and glad she had the time to visit yesterday.

We had endless chitchats about anything else which is expected when Filipinas gather together. Our kids had a lot of fun playing. I love the idea my girl got to play with other kids younger her age especially with boys. They got along just fine, I believe! Here are our photos we took!

So nice of this girl I knew through the internet, the popular social networking site called Facebook introduced by a college buddy and then she came visited me and my kids last Saturday. Who would have thought that I could meet her in person? She lives in San Francisco, California and I am here in Texas, sounds kinda far but if one person is interested to make it happen, there should be no excuses no alibis, there is a big way to make it happen!

Thankss to you Apol for taking the time to come by here and share dried fish and squid with me. next time again, ayaw tagam ha?

Filipino-American Christmas Parties

I thought my Christmas was gonna be boring for we usually have Christmas in the USA with our family alone. Although there were some invitations from the past but the location itself is quite far from the house so I wasn't willing to have my husband drive us back and forth only to be at the party. Two Christmas parties I attended just this month and each party was a blast. The first party was in Watauga and we had an exchange gift. I am happy with what I got because it is exactly what I've been thinking to buy for our kitchen.

......shots of my little girl bringing the gift to me and opened it...this was last December 18 in Watauga the first party we went to...

........chadaaaaaaaaaaaa and here's what's in the box, a decorative candle holder, there's 2 of them actually which I so love!
........and the last photo is of me and my baby and Selina also a blogger..
Here are some photos of us on Christmas eve, a different group of Filipinas just three blocks away from our home...

Back To Reality

As you may not know it, we just came back from our two-week stay from the Philippines for my father's funeral. We are now back to reality where nobody here that my Jadyn to play with. No one's around I can ask help with when I need something because there are just 4 of us in this house.

By the way, this picture is of my big Princess with her friends in Cebu. This was taken when we just arrived from our long trip from Texas to Cebu last October 20th. They are our neighbor's kids and I am glad Jadyn gets along with them even though two of these kids aren't speaking in English.

Great Friends

I had a sort of a surprised baby shower last Sunday! My friend just told me that it's just a simple gathering and nothing else. All the Filipina friends we have in our Fb list in DFW area were invited, none of them ever told me that they were attending a baby shower so all along I really thought it was just a gathering.

When I got to her place, I was like why there are pink balloons and diaper cake here? Are you giving me a baby shower, hmmmm? That's how I knew it! Then when people started arriving, they were carrying gift bags with them for the baby. To my surprise also, friends I already told I'm not gonna be having a baby shower were there, they showed up that brought tears to my eyes. They were really nice and GREAT! Thanks to wonderful friends surrounding me and most of all I am most thankful to the sisters Annie and Irish for hosting the party! They all made me feel special and loved!

Filipino Gathering

I had the ultimate fun at a neighbor's house last weekend. It was like I was in my home country because of the unlimited chitchat and never ending laughter while at their house. Too many Filipinas were there plus very funny husbands that brought us so much joy at that time.

It was a sort of post birthday celebration for all Filipinas who celebrated their birthdays in the month of June including myself. We did karaoke or in the Philippines we call it videoke for full 4 hours, foods and drinks! You know when Filipinos gather together, you expect there'll be plenty of food served on the table. Our gathering wouldn't be complete without food, you know!

Nice to know and meet new people at the same time. There is this girl I just met for the first time who has a daughter of five years old that really got along with my Jadyn. Good for them for they were the only little kids in that house last weekend and they two had a good time playing and running around.

An Eyeball With Girlfriends

I've been talking to these two girls on the internet for three years. They are the authors of the following blogs; Selina of A Place To Belong and Claire of My Rendezvous. Both were introduced to me by our common friend Anne Thompson of Mary Anne's Musings whom I met for the first time in person during my visit in Davao last December.

Anyway, our meeting last April 26 was a blast. As we all got along pretty well, I felt very comfortable with the two girls, big bonus of course because they speak the same language as me. It was a miracle, really. Our eyeball wasn't planned at all. It was Claire who called us both that they are gonna come down to Fort Worth to do some errands and that she couldn't let the opportunity to pass by not seeing us. So nice of her to do that knowing that she lives 6 hours away by car from us.

I put it this way, Cla2x must be very interested in seeing us for she really found a way to get here, or if she wasn't...she would have excuses or alibi. I appreciate her for doing that. It was truly one very good eyeball for three of us and guess what? It was our very first time to see one another in person even though Selina and I live closer than Cla2x.......

....Selina in Stripe, me in the middle and Cla2x in blue top
......my girl, Selina and I in her backyard...Cla2x was the photographer...

........and this was me and Mary Anne last December @ Bigbay's in Davao... amazing how God connected all four of us through this very one person that made our friendship possible.

Fil-Am and Fil-Swedish Delights

These are our babies, Jadyn a Filipino-American and Laikka Filipino-Swedish delights. They are pretty and no one should argue with that, it's obvious in the pictures lol. Proud to have one mixed baby. Laikka is Janeth and LarsGoran's first born. They both look stunning, aren't they? Of course I should be proud because they are more beautiful than pure white babies.

Yes, Janeth from Sweden and I met in person last January 10, 2011. We first knew each other thru blogging world and we gave justice to our friendship by eyeballing in SM Cebu. It was nice meeting her and her whole family. I had a blast for the very short time we spent chit chatting while looking after our girls.

A Great Help

I am one lucky mommy for having such a great girl who happens to like Mike so much. Mike is our close friend in Texas who came with us here in the Philippines for a month-long vacation. He likes Jadyn and Jadyn loves him too. Thanks to him for he is a great help to me for Jadyn. He makes sure Jadyn is well-taken care of when he is with us.
...... if there is one person that I can rely on during long trips or long walks, Mike would be that person for he carries Jadyn's heavy weight on his shoulders ha!

...these three photos above and below were taken in Kawasan Falls yesterday... you see how these two people are so comfortable with each other, I guess Jadyn looks at Mike as her second daddy.
